The Story

Native Americans are known for our indigenous arts and crafts. Native Daughters Native Spirit is my celebration of the natural beauty found around and below us. Based in Jemez Pueblo in Northwest New Mexico, NDNSpirit is building a collective of Indigenous artists and artwork. The works of José Rey Toledo, my maternal grandfather, anchor the collection.

My daughter, Marisol, started Rez Dog Greetings in 2017 and is expanding to a broader view of her photography. Uncle Robert Chinana has mostly retired as a silversmith, and we have a few works remaining. I am fascinated by rocks and crystals, and I am working them into small pieces of art as talismans, totems, and jewelry. They are meant to be held, where the hands’ warmth and energy create synergies with the stones, crystals, shells, corals, woods, and clay’s frequencies and magic. New age, maybe, but the fundamentals trace back to the ancients of all peoples. So far, all these artists are from Jemez Pueblo.

Thank you for visiting our gallery.

Blessings of health, beauty, and prosperity,
